TL;DR

Director, Vendor Engagement (IT Distribution): Leading strategic category performance and vendor partnerships within a global IT ecosystem with an accent on P&L accountability, digital transformation, and platform-driven growth. Focus on building high-performing teams, executing complex go-to-market strategies, and fostering executive-level relationships across the partner ecosystem.

Location: Must be based in the United States (Buffalo, NY or Greer, SC preferred). Significant travel required (up to 50%).

Salary: $155,700 – $272,500 per year.

What you will do

  • Own end-to-end category performance, including P&L accountability, operational efficiency, and innovation.
  • Develop and execute category strategies leveraging platform data, market insights, and digital-first priorities.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams to execute vendor strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with vendor leadership and channel partners.
  • Drive digital transformation by integrating scalable programs that enhance partner engagement and customer experience.
  • Monitor IT distribution trends, hybrid cloud adoption, and edge computing to identify new revenue opportunities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in vendor management, category management, or market development within IT services or distribution.
  • Proven ability to own P&L performance and deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Executive management experience working directly with C-suite and partner decision-makers.
  • Strong technical aptitude with deep knowledge of channel strategy, partner ecosystems, and emerging IT trends.
  • Experience navigating multinational, matrixed environments and complex vendor engagement models.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and prepared to pass a drug test and background check.
