Autonomy Validation Engineer (AI)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. The role requires 10% travel, and domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $97,530–$158,480 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain MATLAB/Simulink real-time models for machine dynamics, closed-loop validation, fault injection, and regression testing on HIL benches.
• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot dSPACE SCALEXIO benches using ConfigurationDesk and ControlDesk.
• Design, build, and validate wiring harnesses, electrical interfaces, power distribution, grounding, shielding, and signal-integrity solutions.
• Integrate and validate CAN/J1939 and Ethernet/TCP-IP communications across autonomous machine systems.
• Validate back-office workflows and sensor simulation for LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS, and IMU systems, including timing, synchronization, calibration, and fault modes.
• Investigate system-integration issues across hardware, software, networks, sensor simulation, workflows, and HIL bench design, then implement corrective actions supported by test evidence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science, or an advanced degree in a related field.
• Experience with complex autonomous vehicle systems in design, development, validation, or product support.
• Experience with iterative testing, agile methodologies, V-model verification and validation, and model-based simulation.
• Extensive experience with electrical systems, wiring harnesses, electrical integration, interfaces, and sensors.
• Strong data analysis, systems analysis, software testing, programming, debugging, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Full-time onsite work at the Mossville, Illinois office is required; visa sponsorship is available for eligible applicants.
