What you will do

• Lead, supervise, and assign daily work to a team of estimators.
• Plan and oversee construction cost estimates for buildings and facilities based on drawings and project requirements.
• Prepare and review supporting documentation used to secure state and federal school construction grants and loans.
• Validate construction cost estimates submitted by architects and engineers to ensure accuracy and budget alignment.
• Analyze significant bid variances and evaluate change orders, determining the validity of proposed extras or credits.
• Develop and maintain cost-tracking systems and reports comparing estimated versus actual construction costs.

Requirements

• Must be based in Los Angeles, CA (On-site).
• 14-20 years of professional experience in preparing complete cost estimates for major/complex building construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management (or 20+ years of experience in lieu of a degree).
• 3-5 years of full-time experience supervising estimators.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a construction cost consulting firm.
• Expertise in State building codes for type I, II, III, and V construction.
