What you will do
- Direct and prepare lump sum, unit rate, and cost plus estimates for proposals, project controls, and change orders.
- Coordinate and review variable estimating factors with Engineering Operations, Procurement, and Construction departments.
- Provide technical advice to Project Managers for estimates ranging from simple analysis to multi-billion dollar lump sum bids.
- Lead, train, and develop subordinate staff while maintaining the company estimating database.
- Appraise estimate accuracy and recommend contingencies for defined and interim control estimates.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts to enhance estimating procedures and value addition.
Requirements
- 8 to 20 years of relevant experience, including estimating and field/project experience.
- Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks and drug screens.
- Visa sponsorship is not available.
- Strong proficiency in complex estimating principles, cost engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Nice to have
- BS or MS degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Expertise in conceptual estimating and tracking industry developments.
