What you will do

• Provide technical assistance to DBE/SBE firms regarding construction means, methods, and scheduling.
• Evaluate project plans and criteria to identify and increase opportunities for small business participation.
• Monitor site preparation, logistics, and material quality to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Conduct risk and hazard analyses and document performance factors affecting production.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and client staff to resolve construction contracting issues.
• Prepare weekly and monthly status reports and maintain daily journals of field activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required.
• 5+ years of experience in Civil Rights, Inspection, or Technical Assistance programs.
• Current VDOT Inspection certifications in environmental controls and soils.
• Strong ability to interpret project drawings, specifications, and construction schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ProjectWise, Primavera, or AutoCAD is preferred.
• Professional business writing skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
