Salary: $135,000 - $175,000 a year

What you will do

• Perform daily field inspections of civil and utility construction, including grading, paving, concrete, and sewer systems.
• Document contractor progress, verify quantities, and monitor compliance with approved plans and codes.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project records.
• Coordinate between contractors, engineers, testing labs, and agency representatives.
• Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety standards and environmental regulations.
• Assist with change order verification and pay application reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of inspection experience on public works projects.
• Minimum 3 years experience with Caltrans, cities, counties, or special districts in Southern California.
• Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be based in or able to work onsite in San Diego, CA.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as ACI, ICC, QSP/QSD, AWS, or NICET.
• Knowledge of prevailing wage and labor compliance requirements.
• Experience with federally funded projects or DBE compliance.
• Familiarity with inspection software like Fieldwire, Procore, or client PMIS.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• FAA experience.
