TL;DR

Location: Must be based in Los Angeles or Long Beach, CA (On-site)

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead utility coordination for water, sewer, and communication relocations in dense urban environments.
  • Manage design review and conflict resolution for underground and overhead utilities across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and review Utility Relocation Plans, Joint Utility Trench layouts, and conflict resolution drawings.
  • Coordinate permits and agreements with utility owners such as DWP, SoCal Gas, AT&T, and LADOT.
  • Provide field engineering support, inspection coordination, and as-built verification.
  • Ensure compliance with NEPA/CEQA requirements, encroachment permits, and environmental constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive experience in utility engineering and coordination for public infrastructure projects.
  • Minimum of five years of direct experience supporting LA Metro capital improvement programs.
  • Must be able to work on-site at client locations in Los Angeles/Long Beach.
  • Strong understanding of transit corridor expansions, station construction, and tunnel alignment utility coordination.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
  • Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Safety certification.
  • Experience with heavy civil, transit, and rail projects in dense urban environments.
