What you will do

  • Design and manage end-to-end performance feedback cycles, including communication and facilitation.
  • Serve as a confidential resource for employee relations, conducting professional investigations and resolving conflicts.
  • Ensure HR practices remain compliant with federal and multi-state labor laws.
  • Partner with managers to equip them for effective performance conversations and team development.
  • Maintain organized, accurate HR records and improve internal people operations processes.
  • Identify patterns in employee engagement and proactively recommend systemic improvements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in both traditional HR and people operations.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. multi-state legal compliance, including employee and contractor classification.
  • Proven expertise in employee relations, de-escalation, and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to operate independently in a part-time, 1099 contract capacity.
  • Strong systems-thinking approach to building scalable HR frameworks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and crisis management skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting high-growth startups or consumer app companies.
  • Working knowledge of employer benefits administration.
  • Familiarity with HRIS or people operations tools.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
