What you will do

• Inspect concrete structures including bridges, retaining walls, and piles to ensure compliance with plans and safety codes.
• Review structure shop drawings to verify alignment with contractual requirements.
• Conduct field inspections and provide photo or video documentation of construction progress.
• Collaborate with the Engineer of Record, clients, and contractors to resolve constructability issues.
• Support the RFI process and attend weekly on-site construction meetings.
• Maintain professional relationships with project stakeholders and participate in training on code updates.

Requirements

• B.S. or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or Building Construction (or Associate degree with 1 year of paid experience).
• EIT certification and 5 years of related paid professional experience.
• 5 years of verified structural inspection experience (minimum 2 years of specific structural inspection).
• Ability to work both day and night shifts as required by the project.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA.

Nice to have

• Relevant Caltrans and Metro inspection certifications.
• Experience with Caltrans highway projects.
• Knowledge of California Test Methods and construction manuals.
• Certifications such as CMIT, ACI, NICET, or APWA.
