Civil Engineer - Transportation (OpenRoads)

Location: Onsite in Minot, Williston, or Fargo, North Dakota, USA

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year, with overtime paid at the base hourly rate for hours worked over 40 per week.

What you will do

• Plan, develop, and implement transportation projects involving roadways, highways, bridges, airports, and transit systems.
• Develop transportation plans and prepare construction documents using OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Analyze and model traffic-flow patterns to identify safety and infrastructure improvements.
• Coordinate with contractors, the DOT, public agencies, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Conduct site inspections and contribute to technical reports and client proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline with a transportation focus.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Existing North Dakota Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain it within 12 months.
• 3–6 years of transportation or civil engineering design and consulting experience.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, traffic-analysis, and infrastructure-design skills.
