What you will do

• Lead and line manage a squad of engineers to deliver the product and technology roadmap.
• Design, implement, and assure high-quality, secure, and scalable cloud-based services.
• Own the personal development and performance of team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with architects and product management to manage technical debt and platform risks.
• Promote engineering best practices and knowledge sharing across the wider technology organization.
• Operate within an Agile environment, driving automation in CI/CD and quality assurance.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Liverpool, UK.
• Proven experience in leading and managing engineering teams in a high-quality system development environment.
• Strong technical background in cloud-based software engineering.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (SCRUM/Kanban) and CI/CD automation.
• Ability to provide clear direction, coaching, and mentoring to team members.
• Financial Services experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Java, Python, or React.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code, serverless computing, and observability.
• Familiarity with DevSecFinOps practices.
