What you will do

• Define technical vision, strategy, and project planning for the engineering team.
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance through deep system design expertise.
• Ensure high engineering standards and reliable project delivery.
• Actively contribute code, fix bugs, and resolve technical issues.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Staff Engineers to address process inefficiencies.
• Support hiring, interviewing, and training of new engineering talent.

Requirements

• Must be based in London and able to work from the office 4 days per week.
• Proven experience in system design, architecture, and coding across multiple languages.
• Strong track record of delivering large-scale systems.
• Ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions.
• Experience in identifying process inefficiencies and driving architectural improvements.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on ownership, quality, and open feedback.

Hiring process

• Screen call with the Talent Team (45-60 minutes).
• Two stages of technical interviews with engineers (90 minutes and 2 hours).
• Final stage interview with Head of Engineering and VP of Engineering (60 minutes).
