TL;DR

Carrier Development Representative (Logistics): Identifying, sourcing, and developing strategic relationships with service providers to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction with an accent on carrier sales and freight rate negotiation. Focus on building a robust carrier network, conducting high-volume outbound outreach, and managing logistics operational excellence.

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 remote after training)

Salary: $45,000 - $49,500 + competitive commission program

What you will do

  • Source and develop strategic carrier profiles through research and networking to align with truckload sales opportunities.
  • Engage carrier partners via high-volume phone outreach, targeting 80+ dials per day.
  • Negotiate freight rates with motor carriers to maximize daily, weekly, and monthly profitability.
  • Coordinate customer freight with available motor carrier equipment using internal postings.
  • Track and monitor shipments to proactively resolve transit issues and delays.
  • Verify freight charges, confirm Bill of Lading receipt, and resolve payables discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Flexibility to change focus quickly based on market conditions and company needs.
  • Must be located in or able to work in Austin, TX.
