TL;DR

Sales Executive (Academic Publishing): Promoting online resources to customers and prospects in Malaysia with an accent on sales strategy execution and pipeline growth. Focus on building relationships with agents, performing in-person client visits, and maximizing upselling potential within the higher education market.

Location: Must be based in Malaysia and live within a commutable distance to the Petaling Jaya office (Hybrid: minimum 3 days per week in-person).

What you will do

  • Establish and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the Malaysian market.
  • Maximize sales revenue to consistently meet and exceed targets.
  • Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline to ensure sustainable growth.
  • Manage strong working relationships with agents and other channel partners.
  • Travel within Malaysia for in-person client visits and attendance at professional conferences.
  • Collaborate with global product and sales teams to share knowledge and best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a sales position.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both speaking and writing).
  • Legal right to work and live in Malaysia.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business (preferred).
  • Strong consultative sales skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and experience working with CRM databases.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge and experience in academic publishing.
  • Experience selling into Academic Higher Education library markets.
  • Proven track record of selling digital content directly and via third parties.
