Business Analyst (Mining)

TL;DR

Business Analyst (Mining): Translating complex business needs into actionable software requirements for the Cat® MineStar™ platform with an accent on stakeholder engagement and product backlog management. Focus on bridging the gap between customer value and technical delivery within a co-located, high-performing product team.

Location: Must be based in Brisbane, Australia (Onsite 5 days/week)

What you will do

• Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements and functional specifications.
• Translate business needs into user stories and clear acceptance criteria.
• Partner with Product Owners and engineering teams to refine and prioritize the product backlog.
• Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions with diverse stakeholders.
• Collaborate with UX designers to ensure user-centric product outcomes.
• Support end-to-end delivery, including user acceptance testing and solution verification.

Requirements

• Must have Australian working rights (Visa sponsorship is not available).
• Must be able to work onsite in Brisbane five days a week.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a software or technology delivery environment.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate complex systems into actionable requirements.
• Experience working with Agile product teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Nice to have

• Exposure to geospatial, mining, or industrial technology domains.
• Experience with user-facing or UX-driven products.
• Understanding of Agile frameworks like Scrum or SAFe.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and techniques.
