Hardware Integrator / Test Technician

Hardware Integrator / Test Technician (Hardware/Testing): Assemble, cable, and stand up development and test lab equipment for a Cybersecurity team supporting U.S. Navy Submarines with an accent on hands-on rack/server setup, lab planning support, and validating requirements through informal and formal tests. Focus on troubleshooting hardware issues, coordinating with vendors for repair/RMA, and installing/checking IA software across testing sites.

Location: Manassas, VA

Salary: $44–$54 per hour (non-benefitted W2 contract)

What you will do

• Assemble test racks and interconnect components (servers, switches, KVMs, etc.) for lab use.
• Build and configure servers using COTS/GOTS software and set up networking equipment.
• Support lab planning (layout, power, cooling) and coordinate with facilities to meet lab needs.
• Generate bills of material, order lab hardware, and track lead times.
• Install and check IA software and provide test/troubleshooting support at other testing site locations.
• Run informal and formal tests to validate planned testable requirements and document test planning/procedures/reports.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain a clearance.
• 5+ years of Submarine Combat Control Weapon System experience, or a BS/degree in relevant engineering/technical disciplines, or 5 years of related experience.
• Ability to assemble and test computer equipment.
• Working knowledge of networking and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP) and basic Linux command-line skills.
• Strong attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem solving.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and strong written/verbal communication.
