Safety Director

TL;DR

Safety Director (OSHA/SEH): Lead site safety committees, incident investigations, and safety/environmental health audits across production facilities with an accent on OSHA compliance, root-cause analysis, and sustainable corrective actions. Focus on deploying safety software for tracking incidents and training, managing workers’ compensation and ergonomics, and standardizing safety programs across U.S. locations.

What you will do

• Lead site safety committees and partner with leaders to identify hazards, prioritize corrective actions, and improve site safety performance.
• Direct response to workplace emergencies and manage incident investigations to determine root causes and implement sustainable corrective actions.
• Conduct regular safety and environmental health audits and drive follow-through to resolution.
• Maintain OSHA and applicable SEH regulatory compliance by developing and maintaining safety policies, programs, and procedures.
• Lead deployment and adoption of the company safety software platform for tracking incidents, near-misses, inspections, training, and required documentation.
• Support workers’ compensation case management and ergonomics/loss control measures in partnership with HR, Risk Management, and the carrier.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education.
• 5+ years of related safety experience, including safety training development and delivery.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA and applicable local/state safety and health regulations.
• Direct safety experience in a general industry or manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including leading meetings and training sessions.

Culture & Benefits

• Day shift, M–F coverage with occasional on-call support (may include 24x7 coverage) and evening/weekend work as needed.
• Occasional travel up to 10% between Edgewood campus locations.
• Salary range: $120,000–$130,000 USD annually; bonus eligible.
• Work performed in office and production/manufacturing environments; safety shoes required on the production floor.
