Environmental Health and Safety Manager

Location: Bolingbrook, IL, US; travel required across assigned locations and shifts.

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Own the EHS strategy, objectives, KPIs, audit schedule, training plan, budget, and improvement roadmap across assigned businesses and locations.
• Develop and maintain programs for chemical safety, hazardous energy, machine safety, PPE, industrial hygiene, emergency response, and environmental compliance.
• Conduct facility assessments, audits, inspections, incident and near-miss investigations, and root-cause analyses.
• Manage corrective actions from identification through implementation, effectiveness verification, and formal closure.
• Maintain ISO environmental and occupational health and safety management systems, records, permits, reporting, and regulatory readiness.
• Partner with Operations, Facilities, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, Quality, and Security while advising senior leadership and holding operational leaders accountable.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least five years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or an industrial environment; seven or more years preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state and local requirements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, audits, risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective actions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, analytical skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently, influence leaders without direct authority, manage conflict, and support EHS needs across assigned locations and shifts.

Nice to have

• CSP, ASP, CHMM, or equivalent professional certification.
• ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 auditor training.
• Experience independently managing an EHS program or serving as the primary EHS business owner.
