Lead Technician (Wind Energy)

Location: Minonk Wind Farm, Minonk, Illinois, United States; onsite field work required

What you will do

• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-system faults on wind turbines.
• Perform preventive maintenance, component replacements, system integration, and commissioning.
• Analyze turbine performance using specialized diagnostic tools and SCADA systems.
• Lead daily field operations, coordinate service activities, delegate tasks, and review completed work.
• Provide technical support to customers, complete service documentation, and manage onsite tools and spare parts.
• Train junior technicians and enforce environmental, health, and safety requirements during routine and emergency work.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a wind technician or in a comparable technical service role.
• Strong troubleshooting experience with wind turbine electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems, plus knowledge of SCADA.
• Ability to lead field activities and coordinate service operations.
• Ability to climb turbines up to 300 feet, work at heights and in confined spaces, and meet physical requirements including a body weight limit of 265 pounds or less.
• English proficiency at B1–B2 level and legal authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship are required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; physical examination required.

Nice to have

• Vocational, technical, or associate degree in electromechanical, electrical, mechanical, or a related field.
