What you will do

• Provide daily operations support and assist the Maintenance Manager and Lead Electrician.
• Install, remove, maintain, repair, test, and operate plant electrical equipment, including exciters, M-G sets, control systems, lighting, batteries, communications systems, and switchgear.
• Install plant systems and subsystems such as conduit, raceway, fiber-optic cable, phones, computer interfaces, switchgear, and lighting.
• Operate procedures for removing from and returning to service station loads associated with 110 VAC through 115 kV AC and 120 V DC switchgear and bus systems.
• Maintain the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System, plant documentation, inventory, tools, work areas, and computerized maintenance management records.
• Instruct and direct employees, assist contractors, inspect contractor work, and report unusual conditions.

Requirements

• Must work onsite in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
• UWUA Local 369 Union membership is required.
• High school diploma or GED plus two years of trade or technical school, or equivalent electrical training.
• At least five years of experience in an industrial or power plant electrical environment.
• Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician’s License required.
• Basic computer literacy, a good safety record, and the ability to read electrical circuit, one-line, and panel diagrams.

Nice to have

• Strong knowledge of power plant circuitry, equipment, layouts, and switching procedures.
• Advanced experience operating, installing, removing, maintaining, testing, and repairing power plant auxiliary electrical equipment.
