Staff Software Engineer, Test Infrastructure (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at the San Jose, California office, United States. The position requires access to export-controlled information and candidates must meet applicable U.S. Government export requirements.

Salary: $210,000–$234,000 per year, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the software test infrastructure team and shape department-wide testing architecture and best practices.
• Deliver infrastructure for rapid, reliable testing of flight and ground software.
• Define test-health and team-success metrics with automated reporting.
• Expand Hardware-in-the-Loop testing with Hardware Engineering and Manufacturing.
• Integrate simulation tools into automated testing campaigns.
• Mentor Test and Simulation engineers and improve estimation and planning.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in a team environment.
• Experience delivering department-scale testing procedures and infrastructure, including Hardware-in-the-Loop integration testing.
• Experience designing orchestration and reporting for end-to-end integration tests across large multi-component systems.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Linux system administration, Docker, and common electronics test equipment.
• Must be eligible to access applicable U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of C/C++ and statistical analysis.
• Experience testing embedded hardware in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or aerospace.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud deployment environments, and virtual instances.
• Experience with Software-in-the-Loop simulation.
