Associate Flight Software Test & Tools Engineer (Embedded)

What you will do

• Create and execute test plans for flight software and support validation in simulation, flight-replica, flight-vehicle, and hardware-in-the-loop environments.
• Develop automated flashing, deployment, and testing workflows for physical devices.
• Maintain build pipelines, CI/CD systems, and automated test frameworks.
• Document testing procedures, results, verification artifacts, and compliance records.
• Track bugs, release tickets, performance metrics, and coordinate releases with software, firmware, FPGA, and Configuration Management teams.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot embedded and non-embedded toolchains while applying DevSecOps principles.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 0+ years of experience; internships, academic projects, and personal projects are welcome.
• Interest in testing C/C++ applications for embedded, high-performance, or safety-critical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, motivation, responsibility, and willingness to learn.
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Must meet U.S. space technology export-control requirements and hold or be eligible for the required U.S. work authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Linux, GNU tools, Bash, Python, CMake, or Makefiles.
• Familiarity with virtualization and container tools such as Docker, VirtualBox, VMware, Hyper-V, or Vagrant.
• Exposure to vulnerability and static analysis tools, including cppcheck, Dependency-Track, CodeQL, or JFrog.
• Experience with embedded processors, microcontrollers, or team-based software projects.
