TL;DR

Principal Sales Engineer (Observability): Driving technical closure of sales opportunities for the Observe platform with an accent on observability concepts and cloud-native technologies. Focus on managing Proof of Concepts (POCs), delivering tailored product demonstrations, and collaborating with product teams to refine AI-powered observability capabilities.

Location: Must be based in the UK, Germany, France, or the Netherlands (Remote options available in DE, FR, NL; Office in London, Paris, Amsterdam)

What you will do

  • Lead in-depth technical discovery sessions to identify customer environments, challenges, and observability requirements.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to prospect needs.
  • Design, scope, and manage technical Proof of Concepts (POCs) and document value-driven results.
  • Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute technical sales strategies throughout the sales cycle.
  • Act as the voice of the customer by providing feedback to Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Develop technical sales collateral and deliver training to the broader Sales organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect in the software industry.
  • Deep technical expertise in observability (metrics, logging, tracing) and tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
  • Proficiency with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Microservices) and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong communication skills for articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience selling specifically to Developer, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) personas.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced, high-growth Observability or Application Performance Monitoring (APM) company.
