What you will do

• Lead and provide strategic direction for all group underwriting activities to meet profitability and growth targets.
• Partner with the AVP of Actuarial and Underwriting to implement innovative processes and automation.
• Translate market intelligence into actionable strategies to improve sales execution and client retention.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of managers and underwriters.
• Collaborate with actuarial departments to deploy initiatives and revise underwriting bases.
• Drive innovation by originating new underwriting concepts and forward-thinking approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Finance, or Administration.
• Minimum 10 years of group underwriting experience.
• 5–10 years of relevant management experience.
• English proficiency is required for daily collaboration with teams outside Québec.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Windows and Excel.

Nice to have

• Professional designations such as GBA, CEBS, AICA, FCIA, CPA, or MBA.
• Bilingualism in English and French.
