What you will do
- Lead Oracle Database upgrades, patching, and software deployments across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Provide 3rd-line diagnostics, performance tuning, and root cause analysis for complex database and application issues.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point and mentor for the support team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Networks, UNIX/Linux, and Cloud Ops to resolve platform-wide issues.
- Identify and implement automation for maintenance, health checks, and deployment processes.
- Engage directly with customers to manage priorities and provide technical recommendations for system stability.
Requirements
- Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration and patching.
- Proven experience supporting software on Linux or Solaris environments.
- Experience with Apache Tomcat-based application deployment and support.
- Practical experience using ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Ivanti.
Nice to have
- Oracle Certification.
- Experience with Apache Web Server configuration.
- Unix/Linux shell scripting skills for automation.
- Understanding of networking concepts relevant to database support.
