What you will do

• Lead Oracle Database upgrades, patching, and software deployments across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Provide 3rd-line diagnostics, performance tuning, and root cause analysis for complex database and application issues.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point and mentor for the support team.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Networks, UNIX/Linux, and Cloud Ops to resolve platform-wide issues.
• Identify and implement automation for maintenance, health checks, and deployment processes.
• Engage directly with customers to manage priorities and provide technical recommendations for system stability.

Requirements

• Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.
• Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration and patching.
• Proven experience supporting software on Linux or Solaris environments.
• Experience with Apache Tomcat-based application deployment and support.
• Practical experience using ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Ivanti.

Nice to have

• Oracle Certification.
• Experience with Apache Web Server configuration.
• Unix/Linux shell scripting skills for automation.
• Understanding of networking concepts relevant to database support.
