What you will do

• Design, build, and operate a highly scalable, performant, and resilient planet-scale storage layer.
• Develop and maintain automation for logging, monitoring, and maintenance of the storage layer.
• Optimize existing systems by working with technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Aerospike, and Kafka.
• Participate in complex security system designs and provide mentorship to junior teammates.
• Take ownership of large projects and components as a senior contributor to the team.
• Champion and influence improvements to processes and procedures for the team and division.

Requirements

• Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting open-source distributed storage (Ceph) and orchestrators (Rook) in highly automated, large-scale environments.
• Proficiency with IaC and configuration management tools such as Salt, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with storage-level replication technologies.
• Strong expertise in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
• Ability to communicate and relay technical ideas effectively across diverse, global teams.
