Financial Analyst II

TL;DR

Financial Analyst II (FP&A): Supporting financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis by partnering with division leadership to deliver financial insights and decision support with an accent on financial modeling, variance analysis, and cost driver/allocation methodologies. Focus on building financial models and recurring/ad hoc analyses that drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls.

Location: Springfield, IL (hybrid position with 2-3 days in-office required)

Salary: $66,500.00 - $92,000.00

What you will do

• Coordinate budgeting and planning with division leadership and provide financial guidance.
• Analyze budgets, spending trends, and business drivers to identify risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
• Prepare and present budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to leadership.
• Develop and maintain allocation methodologies, cost drivers, and cost-benefit analyses (CBAs) for strategic initiatives.
• Perform recurring and ad hoc financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, and monthly accruals/expense analyses.
• Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies while ensuring expenses follow established controls and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of finance, accounting, FP&A, or related experience.
• Strong analytical skills, financial modeling, and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with Excel and planning/reporting financial systems/tools.
• Strong communication skills to present financial information to leadership; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
