TL;DR

HR Advisor (HR Operations): Providing expert, practical HR support and managing complex employee relations cases within an operational environment with an accent on UK employment law compliance and absence management. Focus on coaching managers, maintaining audit-ready case documentation, and supporting key HR initiatives across the business.

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Birchwood, UK (Hybrid role)

What you will do

  • Provide expert, practical guidance on a wide range of people issues across the business.
  • Manage end-to-end employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary, grievance, and absence matters.
  • Lead sickness absence management, including occupational health referrals and return-to-work planning.
  • Support managers with maternity, family leave, and flexible working processes to ensure policy compliance.
  • Coach and challenge managers to support effective, commercially focused decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready case documentation and identify trends for proactive HR interventions.

Requirements

  • Strong generalist HR experience, ideally in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Solid understanding of UK employment law and its practical application.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards the qualification.
  • Proven experience independently managing complex employee relations cases.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage high-volume, reactive workloads to tight deadlines.
