Location: Cardiff (3 days a week in office, 2 days at home)

Salary: £30,000-34,000 (depending on experience)

What you will do

• Lead deep-dive, end-to-end investigations into high-value cases and emerging, sophisticated fraud methods.
• Analyze fraud data using Excel and SQL to identify vulnerabilities in current controls.
• Propose specific rule changes and process improvements to stop fraud and scams.
• Handle the most difficult cases, including high-stakes customer escalations and external reporting.
• Act as an escalation point for junior investigators and help calibrate team decision-making.
• Use expert judgment to minimize friction for legitimate customers while maintaining a hard line against bad actors.

Requirements

• At least 1+ years of experience in a dedicated fraud role.
• Ability to connect seemingly unrelated alerts to uncover larger fraud patterns.
• Strong analytical skills with comfort using Excel; SQL skills are highly preferred.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with experience identifying process gaps and proposing solutions.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision and make confident, high-stakes decisions.
