Location: Cardiff (3 days a week in office, 2 days at home)
Salary: £30,000-34,000 (depending on experience)

What you will do
- Lead deep-dive, end-to-end investigations into high-value cases and emerging, sophisticated fraud methods.
- Analyze fraud data using Excel and SQL to identify vulnerabilities in current controls.
- Propose specific rule changes and process improvements to stop fraud and scams.
- Handle the most difficult cases, including high-stakes customer escalations and external reporting.
- Act as an escalation point for junior investigators and help calibrate team decision-making.
- Use expert judgment to minimize friction for legitimate customers while maintaining a hard line against bad actors.
Requirements
- At least 1+ years of experience in a dedicated fraud role.
- Ability to connect seemingly unrelated alerts to uncover larger fraud patterns.
- Strong analytical skills with comfort using Excel; SQL skills are highly preferred.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with experience identifying process gaps and proposing solutions.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision and make confident, high-stakes decisions.
