Salary: $216,000 - $270,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own the technical roadmap for hosting infrastructure, driving reliability, scalability, and performance across billions of monthly requests.
• Lead and mentor Engineering Managers and senior engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and operational rigor.
• Drive architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems, specifically edge delivery, caching, and multi-tenant infrastructure.
• Define and enforce SLOs, observability standards, and incident response practices to ensure platform stability.
• Manage critical customer escalations directly and balance technical debt against system health.
• Champion AI-native engineering practices, integrating LLM tooling into workflows and architectural decision-making.

Requirements

• 12+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years managing other managers.
• Background operating cloud infrastructure at scale within a cloud service or managed hosting product company.
• Must be based in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Advanced knowledge of GCP, AWS, or Azure and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Expert-level understanding of distributed systems and large-scale multi-tenant hosting environments.
• Proficiency in Go, Python, or equivalent systems-oriented languages.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Nginx, MySQL, Redis, Memcached, PostgreSQL, or Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with PHP, Node.js, and related application server technologies.
• Experience with CDN and edge delivery architecture, including caching and performance optimization.
