What you will do

• Own the full lifecycle of state and federal licensing, including applications, renewals, and annual reports across all jurisdictions.
• Maintain a rigorous licensing calendar and proactively escalate risks to ensure deadline compliance.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, and Product teams to synthesize data for accurate regulatory filings and audit readiness.
• Analyze claims, investigate validity, and manage documentation for litigation matters.
• Draft correspondence, discovery responses, and chronologies while coordinating with outside counsel.
• Implement process improvements and automate workflows using legal tech platforms and AI tools.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of independent senior-level paralegal experience in-house or at a law firm.
• Must be based in Los Angeles, CA to support a hybrid work schedule (3 days in-office).
• Demonstrated experience with regulatory licensing (money transmission, lending, or equivalent) and litigation support.
• Technical proficiency in building reports, trackers, and dashboards across multiple data systems.
• Proven track record of integrating AI tools to improve legal workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with regulators and executives.
