VP, Research & Development (AI): Leading the R&D organization for a mission-critical healthcare platform with an accent on technical strategy, delivery predictability, and architectural evolution. Focus on modernizing legacy systems, governing AI integration, and managing R&D budgets to ensure long-term sustainability.

Location: Remote (USA). Must be based in the US. Preference for EST timezone. Travel required (approx. 10%), requiring a valid passport and eligibility to travel to Canada, US, and the Caribbean.

Salary: $120,000 - $135,000

What you will do

• Lead a multi-disciplinary R&D organization encompassing Engineering, Quality Assurance, and delivery teams.
• Translate business strategy and product priorities into executable technical roadmaps.
• Provide architectural and technical leadership across the product portfolio.
• Own delivery outcomes, including predictability, quality, and platform stability.
• Manage the R&D budget, including forecasting and financial tradeoffs.
• Evaluate and govern the adoption of AI-enabled technologies across development and operations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of leadership experience in software development or technology organizations.
• 7+ years of experience with cloud platforms, APIs, and modern architecture.
• 5+ years of experience managing R&D budgets and financial outcomes.
• 1+ years of experience implementing AI-enabled technologies to improve productivity and decision-making.
• 1+ years of experience leading SaaS product development and operations.
• Must be legally eligible to travel internationally (USA, Canada, Caribbean).

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft technologies (.NET, SQL, Visual Basic).
• Proficiency with React for frontend development.
• Experience using Jira for project tracking.
• AI development certifications.
