Service Engineering Lead, ISV (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan or Milford, Michigan, with attendance at least three times per week. Travel required up to 25%; relocation benefits are not provided.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4–7 service and sustainment engineers.
• Set team priorities, operating plans, resource requirements, and execution plans aligned with product milestones and customer commitments.
• Own service engineering strategy and process development for the Infantry Squad Vehicle program, including readiness, maintainability, diagnostics, service parts, technical manuals, service tools, and programming.
• Drive field issue triage, escalation, corrective action, technical guidance, service communications, and design-for-serviceability outcomes.
• Coordinate with product and production engineering, quality, suppliers, program management, manufacturing, field support, and customer stakeholders to resolve complex issues and complete contract deliverables.
• Act as the primary service engineering interface for U.S. Army customers and communicate risks, recommendations, progress, and recovery plans to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in service engineering, sustainment engineering, field support, quality, product support, vehicle integration, or related technical functions.
• Strong experience with service engineering, diagnostics, maintainability, design for serviceability, field issue resolution, or vehicle systems.
• Experience creating operational plans, allocating resources, analyzing trends, and leading cross-functional technical work.
• Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee, or refugee.
• Must be eligible to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance after hire and must not require immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related technical field.
• People leadership experience covering hiring, coaching, performance management, development, and team results.
• Experience with military, government, mission-critical vehicle, defense, or regulated programs.
• Experience with integrated product support, technical publications, service documentation, diagnostics authoring, or service programming strategy.
• Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance on the first day of work.
