Deputy General Counsel (Fintech)

TL;DR

Deputy General Counsel (Legal): Overseeing contract review and execution processes for the company with an accent on commercial contracts, data privacy, and consumer protection laws. Focus on drafting and negotiating complex agreements with merchant partners and managing outside counsel to ensure full legal compliance.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in the DC office). In-office attendance required Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $200,000 – $220,000 + equity

What you will do

• Oversee the contract review and execution process for the entire company.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts with merchant partners, data providers, and vendors.
• Provide legal advice across subject areas including contract law, privacy, data protection, consumer protection laws, and commercial litigation.
• Work with and manage outside counsel.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience as a practicing attorney (in-house or at a law firm).
• Extensive expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar required.
• Experience in the technology industry is highly preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
