Senior Counsel, Commercial (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Base salary: $160,000–$250,000 per year, with potential stock options.

What you will do

• Draft, negotiate, and review commercial revenue-generating contracts, including master service agreements and data and technology licensing agreements.
• Advise on applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidance, particularly privacy, personal data, and AI matters.
• Improve contract forms, policies, and processes to streamline deals and product and service terms.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks and develop practical solutions.
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external business and legal stakeholders.
• Support the General Counsel with additional corporate matters.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited school and current membership in good standing with the California Bar.
• 7+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally combining respected law-firm and in-house experience.
• Experience with commercial technology transactions involving SaaS, data licensing, and partnerships with Fortune 1000 companies and global organizations.
• Strong drafting, communication, negotiation, and prioritization skills.
• Experience handling data privacy and security issues.
• Flexible, technically knowledgeable approach and interest in innovation.
