What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop the commercial legal team, setting priorities and supporting professional growth.
- Scale the commercial legal function by implementing automation and AI-enabled tooling to improve contracting speed and consistency.
- Structure, negotiate, and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including major customer and alliance contracts.
- Partner with executive and senior leadership on commercial strategy, risk tolerance, and legal operations.
- Provide legal advice and thought leadership to key stakeholders across the business.
Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant legal experience in an in-house or reputable firm setting; US experience is preferred.
- In-house experience in advertising, ad tech, technology, data, or media companies.
- Proven track record of managing, mentoring, and developing a team of lawyers.
- Deep understanding of commercial transactions, IP issues, and data licensing concepts.
- Must be called to the Bar in one or more Canadian Provinces or US states with an active license to practice.
- Must be based in Canada or the United States.
