What you will do

• Own the entire in-house legal function as the sole resource, reporting directly to the CFO.
• Negotiate and manage enterprise agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, and data agreements with major retail partners.
• Handle corporate governance, board resolutions, and entity maintenance across the US, AU, UK, and MX.
• Develop and execute IP and music licensing strategies as the product evolves.
• Lead international expansion efforts, including entity formation and GDPR/privacy compliance in new markets.
• Manage a panel of external counsel across multiple jurisdictions, including budget ownership and vendor selection.

Requirements

• 8–12 years PQE with experience at a top-tier law firm and in-house at a growth-stage technology company.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Demonstrated ability to operate as a sole or first in-house lawyer across multiple legal domains.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills with enterprise customers, ideally in SaaS, retail, or media.
• Cross-border legal experience covering the US and at least one of AU, UK, or LATAM.
• Genuine fluency with technology and comfort operating in an AI-forward environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with music licensing, content rights, and collecting societies (PROs).
• Experience with holdco restructure or corporate reorganization.
• Familiarity with Australian corporate law.
