Assistant General Counsel, Commercial and GTM Partnerships (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and scale a commercial legal team, including hiring, mentoring, prioritization, and performance development.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements for enterprise and government customers, including subscription agreements, data and content licenses, strategic partnerships, and public sector contracts.
• Advise Sales, Partnerships, Product, Engineering, and leadership on commercial risk, product development, AI-driven features, data usage, and deal execution.
• Navigate privacy, AI regulation, law enforcement data access, sanctions and AML, public procurement, GDPR, UK data protection law, EU frameworks, and APAC requirements.
• Build scalable commercial legal infrastructure, including templates, fallback playbooks, contract lifecycle management workflows, and measurable intake processes.
• Design and lead AI-assisted legal workflows for drafting, contract analysis, legal research, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 10+ years of legal experience combining top-tier law firm and in-house work, ideally in SaaS, fintech, cybersecurity, or crypto/Web3.
• Significant experience negotiating complex B2B technology agreements and advising products involving data and analytics.
• Practical knowledge of AI, data, privacy, security, intellectual property, and emerging AI regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated fluency with generative AI, CLM, Salesforce, or similar tools for legal drafting, research, summarization, and workflow design.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication, judgment, and risk-escalation skills, with the ability to advise executives and technical teams.
• J.D. or international equivalent and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or the ability to register in-house where required.

Nice to have

• Experience with public sector procurement, bank or vendor risk processes, law enforcement, or financial institutions.
• Background supporting government and institutional customers.
