What you will do

• Lead the mechanical integration of electronics, effectors, and launchers into ground- and sea-mobile platforms.
• Architect and design ruggedized structures, mounts, and enclosures subject to shock, vibration, and thermal constraints.
• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models and interface control documentation (ICDs) for multi-disciplinary integration.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses to ensure compliance with military standards and customer requirements.
• Lead system-level integration, qualification, and acceptance activities, including installation and fit-checks.
• Manage technical hardware interfaces with customers, platform providers, and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in platform-level mechanical design and system integration for aerospace and defense.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for large assemblies and top-down design.
• Familiarity with military standards such as MIL-STD-810 and ruggedized hardware.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• Must be located in or be able to relocate to El Segundo, CA.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with mechanisms, actuation systems, gimbals, or rotary joints.
• Proficiency in commercial FEA or multiphysics simulation packages (e.g., NASTRAN, ANSYS).
• Knowledge of additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and other fabrication techniques.
