What you will do

• Lead and grow a team of mechanical engineers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of UAS mechanical hardware projects.
• Review mechanical designs and FEA analyses to ensure structural integrity and performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate mechanical components into overall aircraft systems.
• Establish and drive design processes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Liaise with stakeholders to communicate technical requirements and progress.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical/structural engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in CAD systems (3D modeling) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and mechanical analysis methods.
• Must be based in or be able to work on-site in San Luis Obispo, CA.
• Required to verify employment eligibility to work in the United States via E-Verify.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with Group 1-4 UAS systems engineering.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Direct experience in mentoring and training junior engineers.
