What you will do

  • Design mechanical components for UAVs, including airframes, propulsion systems, control surfaces, and landing gears.
  • Build and test UAV prototypes through ground and flight tests to validate design reliability and performance.
  • Conduct stress, strain, and fatigue analysis to ensure structures withstand operational conditions.
  • Design and analyze thermal systems to manage heat dissipation in high-performance aerospace applications.
  • Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical systems with sensors and avionics.
  • Evaluate and select lightweight, high-performance materials to optimize fuel efficiency and durability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3-7+ years of experience in professional engineering roles.
  • Proficiency in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and mechanical design software.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and drafting.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Design for Manufacturability (DFMA).
  • Verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

  • Understanding of UAV manufacturing processes, including 3D printing and advanced composite materials.
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification processes (e.g., DO-160, AS9100).
  • Strong project management skills.
