FPGA Engineer (Defense): Designing and implementing complex FPGA designs for next-generation sensor and radar products with an accent on RTL design and system integration. Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. U.S. Person status is required.

Salary: $160,000 - $225,000

What you will do

• Design and implement complex FPGA designs targeting next-generation sensor products.
• Support system integration of FPGA designs with complex software systems.
• Support deployed FPGA capabilities for U.S. and international customers.
• Collaborate within R&D and product engineering teams across multiple product families.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in detailed digital RTL design targeting FPGAs.
• Expertise in Verilog, SystemVerilog, and ARM AMBA AXI Protocol (AXI4, AXI4-Lite, AXI4-Stream).
• Extensive experience with AMD (Xilinx) Vivado Design Suite and SoC FPGAs (Zynq, Ultrascale/Ultrascale+, Versal).
• Experience with Network Protocols (TCP/UDP/IP) and Serial Protocols (I2C, JTAG, UART, SPI, CAN).
• U.S. Person status is required to access U.S.-only data systems.

Nice to have

• Experience in baseband signal processing, SDRs, or ground/airborne sensors (Radars, EO/IR, EW).
• Ability to translate high-level algorithms from Simulink/MATLAB into RTL.
• Current or previous DoD security clearance.
• Experience with GPUs, AI engines, or HLS Synthesis (C/C++/SystemC/Chisel).
• Knowledge of DoD messaging standards such as OMS, SOSA, or Link-16.
