TL;DR
Sr. FPGA Engineer (Radar): Designing and implementing complex FPGA systems for next-generation radar and sensor products with an accent on RTL design, FPGA integration, and high-performance signal processing. Focus on integrating FPGA designs with software systems, validating hardware through drivers and test automation, and supporting deployed capabilities for U.S. and international customers.

Location: Full-time on-site in Hawthorne, California, United States. U.S. Person status is required to access U.S.-only data systems.

Salary: $160,000–$225,000 annual base compensation, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Design and implement complex FPGA architectures for next-generation radar and sensor products.
  • Integrate FPGA designs with complex software systems and support system-level validation.
  • Develop digital RTL using Verilog and SystemVerilog across the full FPGA design lifecycle.
  • Implement and validate network, serial, and ARM AMBA AXI interfaces.
  • Use Bash and Python for scripting, testing, and design validation.
  • Support deployed FPGA capabilities for U.S. and international customers while collaborating in small Agile teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional FPGA RTL design experience.
  • Extensive experience with behavioral simulation, place and route, timing analysis, and hardware integration.
  • Extensive experience with AMD Xilinx Vivado, SoC FPGAs including Zynq, Ultrascale/Ultrascale+, and Versal, and AXI4, AXI4-Lite, and AXI4-Stream.
  • Experience with TCP/UDP/IP, I2C, JTAG, UART, SPI, and CAN protocols, plus software driver and application modifications.
  • Ability to work on-site in Hawthorne and meet the U.S. Person requirement.

Nice to have

  • Experience with high-performance baseband signal processing, SDRs, transceivers, and radar, EO/IR, or electronic warfare sensors.
  • Experience translating Simulink or MATLAB algorithms into RTL and using FPGA vendor IP, HLS, or VHDL.
  • Experience with FPGA Ethernet IP, time synchronization technologies, GPUs, or AI engines.
  • Experience with high-speed PCB design, DoD architectures and messaging standards, or current or previous DoD security clearance.
  • Experience with C/C++ drivers, Git, and CI/CD tools such as Bitbucket CI or Jenkins.
