What you will do

• Manage core accounting functions, budget planning, and financial monitoring for the Academic Finance portfolio.
• Develop comprehensive financial reports and provide strategic recommendations for system processing improvements.
• Interpret and monitor financial policies for grant funds to ensure compliance with the Canada Revenue Agency and university regulations.
• Coordinate month-end and year-end financial activities, including accruals and ensuring financial statement accuracy.
• Provide strategic financial analysis and advice to unit leaders on human and financial resource planning.
• Conduct audit-style reviews and spot checks to mitigate financial and non-financial risks.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Completion of at least 7 of the 14 CPA academic prerequisites.
• Minimum of two years of related financial experience.
• Ability to work onsite at the hirify.global Alternate Site in Vancouver, BC.
• Demonstrated skill in budget preparation and management.
• Ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Nice to have

• Experience with hirify.global systems (FMS, P-Card, PeopleSoft Budgeting, HRMS, Position Management).
• hirify.global FMS certification.
• Knowledge of grant administration, government policies, and audit practices.
