TL;DR
Lead Mechanical Engineer (Structures): Designing and analyzing structural components for a renewable energy system that captures solar energy and stores it as heat for AI infrastructure with an accent on structural integrity, FEA validation, and manufacturability. Focus on creating stationary and moving structures, developing complex FEA models, and optimizing materials for extreme environmental conditions.
Location: On-site in Austin, TX or Miami, FL. Relocation is required.
Salary: $150,000 - $215,000 per year

What you will do
- Design stationary and moving structures and drive components for renewable energy systems.
- Develop and validate structural models using FEA and other analytical methods.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including controls, electrical, thermal, and software engineers.
- Select appropriate materials based on strength, stiffness, cost, and sustainability.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the mechanical engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) and FEA tools (ANSYS, Nastran).
- Expertise in structural mechanics, materials science, and GD&T ASME Y14.5.
- Experience designing for extreme environmental conditions such as high winds or seismic events.
- Relocation to Austin, TX or Miami, FL is required.
