Tooling Design and Support Technician (Manufacturing)

TL;DR

Tooling Design and Support Technician (Manufacturing): Designing and modifying 3D models and engineering drawings for locomotive production with an accent on factory floor quality and technical accuracy. Location: Rapid City, SD. Required to work onsite 5 days per week. No visa sponsorship or domestic relocation assistance provided.

Salary: $28.70 - $43.10 per hour

What you will do

• Use Creo software to create and modify 3D models and engineering drawings for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with customers to define project scopes and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
• Support engineers in troubleshooting technical designs and drawings.
• Maintain engineering release and change documentation.
• Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and engineering tools.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to diverse audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional team environments.
• Proactive approach to task ownership and driving solutions with minimal supervision.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Mechanical background in locomotives or automotive industries.
• Practical experience with NX, Creo, or SolidWorks software.
• Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical blueprints.
