Salary: $280,000 - $330,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead a high-performing platform team focused on search infrastructure, indexing, and retrieval.
• Develop a roadmap balancing foundational platform investments (latency, reliability) with fast iteration for AI agent capabilities.
• Manage platform operations with a high reliability bar, including SLOs and observability.
• Collaborate with Search & Context and AI product teams to define interfaces and commitments.
• Hire, coach, and mentor technical ICs to foster a high-growth environment.
• Contribute to broader engineering practices regarding platform design and AI infrastructure.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Technically leaning management style with the ability to debate architecture and tradeoffs.
• Deep expertise in search, retrieval, or large-scale indexing systems (e.g., BM25, embeddings, ANN).
• Experience product managing a platform or infrastructure scope for internal customers.
• Strong judgment on scalability, performance, security, and enterprise readiness.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in the evolving AI and LLM landscape.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic or tool-using systems for LLM products.
• Familiarity with permissioned, multi-tenant enterprise data and ACL-aware indexing.
• Knowledge of classic information retrieval metrics and applied ML.
