Senior Software Engineer - Streaming Platform (Rust)

Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $192,000–$240,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Architect and implement resilient interactions between streaming client libraries and the control plane.
• Optimize high-throughput, low-level streaming libraries for performance and efficiency.
• Operate services connecting the client fleet with the platform control plane, including balancing and scaling.
• Support internal users through documentation, troubleshooting, and developer-experience improvements.
• Lead high-impact technical projects with end-to-end accountability for delivery and quality.
• Collaborate with partner teams and mentor junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in low-level programming languages, ideally Rust.
• Experience with performance optimization and debugging complex systems.
• Ability to gather stakeholder requirements and lead high-impact technical initiatives.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and technical ownership skills.
• Availability to work in the hybrid New York, USA workplace

Nice to have

• Experience operating or using large-scale streaming systems such as Kafka.
• Familiarity with language bindings and foreign function interfaces.
• Curiosity about AI and using AI to improve development workflows.
