TL;DR

What you will do
- Advise People and business leaders on hiring, performance management, employee relations, investigations, accommodations, leaves of absence, compensation, discipline, and terminations.
- Support global employment compliance by monitoring employment law developments across the United States, Europe, and APAC and advising on federal, state, local, and European requirements.
- Lead or support workplace investigations and manage employment claims, agency charges, demand letters, and litigation in coordination with outside counsel.
- Review and draft employment-related agreements, including offer letters, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, severance agreements, and consulting arrangements.
- Advise on cross-border employment matters such as international hiring, mobility, remote work arrangements, and employee transfers.
- Provide practical employment law training to managers, People Business Partners, and company leadership.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- At least 6 years of in-house employment law experience, preferably in a high-growth technology company.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. employment laws (federal, state, and local).
- Demonstrated experience advising on European employment laws and practices across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Experience conducting workplace investigations and managing employment disputes.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting multinational technology companies.
- Familiarity with works councils and collective consultation requirements in Europe and cross-border issues in Europe and APAC.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and international expansion initiatives.
- Knowledge of privacy and employee data considerations, including GDPR-related employment matters.
