R&D Engineer II (Medical Devices)

Location: Geleen, Limburg, Netherlands; onsite

Salary: €56,000–€84,000 per year in the Netherlands; eligible for the hirify.global Incentive Plan short-term incentive

What you will do

• Design and develop manufacturing processes for advanced medical devices, improving product quality, manufacturability, cost efficiency, and consistency.
• Perform process validation by analysing process input-output interactions and documenting technical results.
• Work hands-on with laser cutting, laser welding, automated assembly, and optical measurement systems.
• Build and test prototypes, collaborate on product design modifications, and support product manufacturability improvements.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methods to analyse production processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement sustainable optimizations.
• Support manufacturing process transfer and scaling from concept and development through validation and market launch while coordinating with design engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Mastery of Dutch and English.
• Hands-on mentality and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, communication, solution-oriented, and ownership skills.
• Ability to align technical work with project milestones, regulatory requirements, and internal standards.

Nice to have

• Lean Six Sigma qualification at Yellow Belt or Green Belt level.
